Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
Curette inserted into uterus and baby’s body cut into pieces and vacuumed out.
Dilation and Evacuation (D&E)
Forceps inserted into uterus, twisting baby’s body to dismember it.
(If head too large, crush to remove).
Dilation and Extraction (D&X or Partial Birth Abortion)
Cervix dilated. Forceps extract live baby by feet until only babies head inside cervix. Scissors puncture skull, brain vacuumed. Dead baby removed from “mother”. Banned despite Democrat objections.
Womb penetrated by surgical incision, abdominal cord cut stopping oxygen supply and causing suffocation. Baby may also be delivered alive and left unattended to die.
Chemical digoxin injected into baby’s heart, causing immediate death. Used as “pregnancy reduction” when “mother” carrying multiples wants fewer children.
Hormone-like compound injected into muscle of uterus causing intense contractions and pushing out baby. Violent contractions often crush baby to death, though many babies born alive then left to die.
Synthetic steroid blocks hormone progesterone. Women then take prostaglandin to induce contractions and expel dead baby.
20% salt solution injected into baby’s amniotic fluid. Baby ingests and dies of salt poisoning, dehydration, and hemorrhaging of brain. baby’s skin is burned off. A dead or dying baby is delivered. A baby born alive is usually left unattended to die, though some have survived.
Suction curette (a tube with a serrated tip) inserted into uterus. Strong suction (29x household vacuum cleaner) tears baby’s body apart and sucks it through hose into container. Most common method of abortion in first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
